Are Blytt is a Norwegian artist who lives and works in Oslo.

Blytt´s praxis embraces painting and focus on painterly questions, while also challenging and testing the limits of the painterly medium. The relationship between image and text is essential in his works, relating to current social and political questions which makes them both formally and conceptually charged. As a painter he draws upon political and personal aspects in his subject matters.

Are Blytt (b. 1981 in Bergen, Norway; lives and works in Oslo) holds an MA in Fine Art from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, Norway. Recent solo exhibitions include 'Closer' (2021) Galerie Alber, Cologne; 'Eight Paintings' (2017), Galleri K, Oslo; 'Red Sun Rising' (2015), Kunsthalle CCA Andratx, Mallorca, Spain.
