Inspired by the exhibition Call me gravity, WIELS is offering a week-long summer camp for children. Over the course of a week, children will work together to design and create a large board game that reimagines Monopoly.

What do we buy, what do we share, what do we repair, and what rules do we play by? This week-long workshop combines visual arts and critical thinking. Children observe, invent, and build a collaborative game inspired by the works on display in the exhibition.

For children aged 8 to 12
Price: €50 for the week

What if an exhibition became a playground?

For a week, children explore the exhibition Call me gravity and work together to create a large-scale board game. Inspired by the artworks, this workshop invites children to imagine a world with its own rules.

Over the course of the week, children will ask themselves what has value, what can be bought, what should be shared. Through drawing, crafting, cards, pieces, and playtesting, they’ll explore these questions in a hands-on, joyful, and creative way.

Here, there’s no need to know anything about contemporary art or to think in big words. We observe, we imagine, we build, we play.

The workshop invites children to collaborate, make choices together, and transform their ideas into a unique, playable, life-size game.

At the end of the week, the group presents their creation: a collective board game with cards, pieces, and everything needed to play the game.
