The Flanders Technology & Innovation Festival is coming to WIELS.
FTI Festival returns for its second edition this autumn. Over five days in October, discover the exhibition Shifting Worlds, join panel discussions and workshops exploring technology and innovation in Brussels — open to all ages.
From 16 to 20 October, the exhibition Shifting Worlds will be on view at WIELS. Can technology genuinely help shape the world differently? For five days, an exhibition presents the work of artists grappling with that question: what will the cities of tomorrow look like, and what role does technology play in that — or not? Their work moves between installation, speculative scenario, prototype and performance, each taking a critical look at the cultural, social and ethical impact of technological change.
On Friday and Saturday, a full-day programme runs alongside the exhibition, with panel discussions, hands-on workshops, intimate talks and performances. Over 100 artists, designers, scientists and thinkers with ties to Brussels engage with each other and the audience on alternative forms of technology, media and culture.
The programme also includes the Fashion Factory, with installations, workshops and talks on fashion, craftsmanship and technology — from repairing a garment to the Digital Product Passport that reveals the story behind your clothes.
