Book Launch: Two Revolutions a Day, Sophie Nys (EN)
Join us for the launch of Two Revolutions a Day, a publication dedicated to the work of artist Sophie Nys. On this occasion, the artist will be in conversation with Christophe Van Gerrewey and Wim Waelput.
Two Revolutions a Day marks the first in-depth publication devoted to the work of Sophie Nys, whose artistic practice over the past two decades has unfolded through an enterprising interplay of research, observation, and formal experimentation.
Working with a variety of media and materials, Sophie Nys (°1974, Belgium) brings conceptual and minimalistic artistic strategies to their logical and formal limits, while maintaining their poetic eloquence as subjects derived from the everyday. Her art’s sparseness produces an ambiguous atmosphere, in which meaning emerges slowly but surely and opens up new spaces for reflection, narration and resistance.
