Alongside her exhibition Confabulations, artist Marie Zolamian invites you for a workshop to discover the 'marouflage' technique, the traditional method of preparing a skin-glue canvas that she also applies to prepare her paintings.
Open to everyone aged 18 and over — no technical skills required.

Guided by the artist, discover the process of mounting and gluing raw linen onto a wooden panel, and explore how the surface takes shape before any painting begins.
Here, the glue becomes a medium in its own right: it tightens and draws the fibres together, alters absorption and shapes the future relationship with light and the material. This time dedicated to the support requires precise attention, direct engagement with the material and a concrete understanding of the physical structure that will receive the paint layer.
