Practical information & conditions
This call is open exclusively to Belgian artists or to artists living and working in Belgium, with at least three years of contribution to the Belgian contemporary art scene.
As part of this program, an independent jury will select four artists, each of whom will be awarded an artistic recognition grant of €3,000.*
This grant constitutes an artistic distinction intended to support and highlight the quality of their artistic practice. It is awarded independently of any service or production obligation within the framework of the residency.
Residencies will take place from January to June or from July to December 2027.
*This amount is awarded as an artistic distinction, without any consideration. Under Belgian tax law, artistic prizes may be considered as miscellaneous income and may benefit, within certain limits, from a partial tax exemption. The tax treatment depends on the individual situation of the beneficiary.
If you have any questions about the application or the residency programme in general, please contact: residency@wiels.org. Please do not send emails to enquire about the selection results. Notifications will be sent in due course.
These residencies are supported by SOFAM.
