Modernism - Postmodernism - Primordialism
‘The third step, like the second, goes directly against what Husserl prescribes. According to Husserl, one must put all past philosophical views and history in brackets. According to Heidegger, this is impossible: for it depends on the historical situation what possibilities for the ‘design of Being’ are possible. Every philosophical reflection, including phenomenology, is determined by the philosophical concepts and viewpoints that have already been handed down. Thus, according to Heidegger, this is the third step, a ‘destruction’ is needed: a critical demolition of philosophical concepts through an investigation of their origins. Only through a proper historical understanding of the concepts one works with can one arrive at a correct phenomenological construction and thus a correct phenomenological understanding.’ (Source: Wikipedia - Phenomenology)
