Linsey McGoey: Where Ignorance Meets Transparency (EN)
Linsey McGoey, sociologist and proponent of ignorance studies, talks about her publication The Unknowers and explores relations between power and willful ignorance. Unpacking a range of examples, she reveals how ignorance is more than just an absence of knowledge, but a useful tool in political and economic life.
Her talk takes place within the context of the group exhibition Open Skies at WIELS, which questions the current regime of transparency and the desire to be all-seeing and all-knowing. It is organized in collaboration with Full Circle, a unique club in Brussels for creative and forward-thinking professionals, interested in new ideas and committed to making a difference.
