The Dionysian character of the book, a pervert, a seducer, or simply a bearer of life, Skarimbas' anti-hero becomes a vehicle for many sociological and political parallelisms. Eugenics, totalitarianism, bio-politics and the eternally enigmatic nature of human relationships all fall under the scope of the text. - Dionysis Anemogiannis
Due to the fact that the book has never been translated into English, artist Yiannis Papadopoulos shared the story aurally with his current fellow residents at WIELS. Through his selective translation, they read and misread the novel, offering back a gesture to the Project Room as a joint act, where individual practices mingle and ask uncomfortable questions.
