While guarding the courtyard of a plot of land in Kinshasa for a period of time, Joseph Kusendila revived a practice often used by the pioneers of cinema: positioning himself behind a stationary camera and bribing the site's users to appear in his film. The attention paid to sound, dominated by the roar of a generator, reveals the full power of the off-screen.
