"L’Hallucination artistique", the sixth in the series of books by Jean-François Chevrier published by L'Arachnéen is no omnibus, but a book in itself. It "tells" in eighteen chapters the history of the role that hallucination played in the artistic creation over the last two centuries, since the birth of psychiatry at the beginning of the nineteenth century until the early twenty-first century. The book ends with a chapter on the work of German artist Sigmar Polke, who died in 2010.
